EDM Ghost Producer

EDM ghost producers don't have it easy: they produce the biggest hits and others reap the success for it. But that's the way the business is. Some EDM ghost producers don't even want to stand on the biggest stages in the world, but feel comfortable in front of their monitor boxes. In recent years, more and more ghost producers have established themselves in the EDM scene and some have even been quite open about their success. Whether this was in the sense of the artists who were ghost produced, one may doubt. After all, this is not the purpose of a ghost production.

Famous EDM Ghost Producer

If you think that ghost producers are rare in the EDM scene, then you thought wrong! There are so many EDM Ghost Producers that we would like to introduce you to two.

Niles Hollowell-Dhar aka KSHMR

KSHMR should be probably the most famous EDM Ghost Producer in the scene. In 2013 he managed his most successful Ghost Production: "DVBBS & Borgeous - Tsunami". Since then, it is impossible to imagine the EDM scene without Niles. Of course, the Ghost Production was before his first appearance as KSHMR and his first own track "Megalodon", which came out on Spinnin Records. In the meantime he is one of the most successful DJ's in the world with his productions and for years he has always snatched a place in the DJ Mag Top 100. Especially through his tips and tricks, which he gives on his social media pages about producing, he triggered a lot of hype. There is hardly a production that does not currently contain a sample from his KSHMR sample pack. KSHMR's most successful single is still undisputed "Secrets" together with Tiesto, which came out in March 2015 and was played for the first time at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. In fact, this was also KSHMR's first live performance.

Maarten Vorwerk

Maarten's biggest success as an EDM ghost producer was "Quintino & Sandro Silva - Epic." The single came out in October 2011 on Tiesto's label Musical Freedom and was a hit on every mainstage. Maarten also had his fingers in the pie on productions by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Danny Avila, or DVBBS. It has to be said that Maarten always wanted to stay in the background. After a collaboration with Chuckie on his single "Dirty Funkin Beats" in 2014, Chuckie wrote on Facebook that he would have liked to have Maarten as an artist on the single, but he declined. So with this example you can see clearly again: not every producer likes to be in the spotlight.

As you can see, EDM ghost producers are now just as much a part of the scene as the big festivals and let's be honest: When you see DVBBS, Borgeous, Quintino, Sandro Silva, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike etc. on stage, no one cares who is behind the production anyway. People just want to party and have a good time. Sure, there's still a lot of whispering among producers, but mostly it's also the envy that then speaks from many.
